We are hiring for a Director of Software Engineering. That would be working out of the Somerset, New Jersey area.

Our client is looking for a passionate, experienced and highly motivated Director of Software Engineering to head its global engineering team. This position is based out of the corporate  headquarters in NJ.

The perfect candidate will have extensive experience recruiting, mentoring and leading software engineering professionals; have experience in building enterprise class software products; and a proven ability to lead a world-class engineering organization.¿ This individual will be responsible for the development and delivery of DCIM (datacenter infrastructure management) software.¿ The software aims at integrating facility management, asset management and information technology aspects in order to manage, monitor and plan data center operations.¿ The software is scalable, distributed and touches many levels, for instance collecting data at the device level.¿ Qualified candidates will be excellent communicators, natural leaders, and big-picture thinkers!

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a global team of software engineers through a fast-paced agile software development lifecycle
  • Oversee the development and delivery of DCIM (datacenter infrastructure management) software
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other functions including Product Management, Professional Services, and executives to execute on Sunbird's strategies
  • Provide leadership and direction for technology, infrastructure, and architecture
  • Foster innovation in products, processes, and culture
  • Build, mentor and grow a team of technologists and develop a coherent organization
  • Drive technical excellence and best engineering practices through continuous metrics-based improvement
  • Be the technical face of the engineering team to key internal and external stakeholders

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline (MS preferred)
  • Knowledge in Java, Ruby, JavaScript, SQL, and related frameworks
  • Strong expertise in algorithms, data structures, and software design and architecture
  • Expert-level understanding of software development lifecycle, programming and testing principles, and continuous integration & deployment
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in management of large software development teams
  • Excellent ability to develop processes and methodologies
  • Exceptional solution-oriented analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Superb communication, time-management and teamwork skills
  • Sharp business acumen and customer-centric focus
  • Strong initiative, ambition, and passion
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, practices, and tools in technology industry
