GDIT seeks a Java developer to work on-site in a fast pace Agile software development environment. The candidate will create new capabilities, enhancements, and fixes based on business and technical requirements. This candidate will provide services for a component of the Department of Justice (DOJ), United States Trustee Program. The program is designed to maintain the integrity of the Bankruptcy system. A suite of applications support the mission of the Trustees program. GDIT maintains these applications with new development, enhancements and operational support. In order to more effectively achieve its mission objectives, the IT department of the US Trustees must ensure the agency’s information systems provide tangible business value to their users and stakeholders. The candidate will design, develop and test capabilities to ensure applications are built to be strong, robust, and perform up to Agency standard.
Develops and maintains Java based systems supporting the USTP mission;
Develops design artifacts, collaborates with Product Owners, Business Analysts (BAs), Users and Testers to comprehend requirements, evaluate alternatives, reduce technical debt and analyzes and interprets complex system requirements;
Candidate will collaborate with DBAs, SAs, and BAs to design solutions;
Candidate will support DevOps automation with Behavior Driven Development (Cucumber) and Test Driven Development in a CI/CD environment
Uses sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant;
Maintains legacy applications. codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains application code;
Participates in application development; monitors and reports progress;
Designs software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and software development.
Provides recommendations to infuse new technology;
Provides expertise in software development and engineering.
Required Demonstrable Experience:
Java Spring, Structs 2 or other web framework experience
Unit testing, Integration Testing and System Testing
Microsoft SQL server
Atlassian Toolsuite: JIRA, Confulence, Bamboo, BitBucket, Selenium, Git, Hibernate, Eclipse
Agile Scrum/Kanban process
Java 8 technologies and components
Years of Experience: 10+ Years;
Required Education: BS;
Desired Education: Computer Science or Computer Engineering
US Citizenship required for Public Trust.
