We are currently seeking a Software Engineering Modeler. This position located in Columbus, OH.
•**'s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Defense business, in our National Security Global Business, is currently seeking persons with software development expertise, mathematical and statistical skills, and knowledge of physical phenomena. The Hazard Modeling Team within CBRNE Defense provides its customers with software-based products that perform technical analyses and predictive modeling to inform their preparedness and response planning efforts to mitigate risk to the United States or their company. ' Develop of object-oriented code in a multi-developer, multi-branched code repository environment to support predictive modeling of threat, vulnerability, consequences or risk associated with a wide array of scenarios including inhalation, ingestion, dermal, and radiation exposure hazards.
' Develop object-oriented code in a multi-developer, multi-branched code repository environment to support decision analytics software.
' Design and develop graphical user interfaces for predictive mathematical models. Model testing for accuracy and performance.
' Development of knowledge management (e.g. database) and collaboration applications
' Model input data collection, reduction, processing, and presentation.
' Creation of software development artifacts, technical presentations, and written reports.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
' Up to 2 years of experience in a non-academic research or software development environment (Note: Academic experience and experience in areas that are not either research or software development are not considered sufficiently relevant to the position).
' Education reflecting one of the following:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Science Engineering with a minor or certificate in Statistics, Data Analysis, Physics, Physics engineering, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Biology, or Engineering.
o Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Science Engineering with a thesis focused on modeling real world phenomenon, machine learning, or natural language processing.
o Bachelor's degree in Physics, Physics engineering, Actuarial science, Mathematics, Biology, or Engineering with a minor, certificate, or emphasis in computer science or equivalent coursework experience.
o Master's degree in Physics, Physics engineering, Actuarial science, Mathematics, Biology, or Engineering with a computational thesis requiring the use of object-oriented programing.
' Significant programming experience in MS SQL or similar relational database.
' Technical expertise derived from one or more of the following activities
o Coursework in engineering (e.g., transport phenomenon, reaction kinetics).
o Experience with advanced data analysis techniques, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, or natural language processing.
' Coursework in mathematics through Calculus III, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations (or equivalent).
' Coursework in Statistics or Probability (at least one formal class).
' Ability to learn and understand new programing languages.
' GPA of 3.0 or above.
' US Citizenship.
' Capability to obtain a DoD Security clearance (Note: Supplier must be able to submit, obtain, and hold the clearance)
